Effects of Geneham Phytopro on mammary gland of sows in late pregnancy and postpartum piglets

1. Objective: To observe the effect of PX511 supplementation in pregnancy diet on the production performance of sows which are in late pregnancy (85 days gestation - prenatal), a 30 consecutive days dietary treatment was implemented on 30 sows close to parturition.

2. Experimental animal:
Sows in late pregnancy: One month before delivery ( 85 days of pregnancy - Parturition).
Breed: Landrace & Large white binary hybridized sows in the same batch and litter

3. The experimental protocols as below:
Sows in late pregnancy were divided into 3 equal groups with 10 Sows each group,
The experimental treatments were: Control, PhytoPro 500g, basal diet+ Phytopro 500g/ton feeding; Phytopro 1000g, basal diet + PhytoPro 1000g/ton feeding. The experiment were implemented from the 85th days of pregnancy to parturition

4. Test time and site: From 3rd March to 2nd April, 2020 in Changsha XXX Pig farm

5. Feeding management: As per routine Immune system of the Pig farm. All sows with ad-libitum access to water but limited feed intake

6. Observation target: 1. Piglets born mean weight 2. Health piglets born per litter

The above table shows the weight comparison of 23 day-old piglets between experiment group with PhytoPro 1000g/ton feeding and control group.

As supposed, the mean weight difference of piglets between control group and Experiment group with PhytoPro 1000g/ton feeding was about 80g, meanwhile the healthy piglets born per litter was significantly different. The uniformity of piglets was improved by PhytoPro 1000g/ton dietary supplementation, also the weight of 23 days-old piglets increased linearly and the variation of piglets was relatively small. Maybe it is because the maternal nutrition through the placental barrier stimulates the development of weak piglets in the uterus.

8 Conclusion

As its designed and developed, Geneham PhytoPro has a high efficacy on the Sow’s feeding and health care of the Sows in late pregnancy, it can effectively solve the below problems:

1. Reduce the problem of abortion, stillbirth and low conception rate caused by hot stress

2. Increase lactation volume and strengthen the development of mammary gland

3.  Avoid weight loss of sows during lactation period

4.  Increase feed intake

5.  Shorten delivery time

6.  Increase litter size

7.  Greatly improve sows’ reproductive capacity
