In early 1980s, the side effects of chemical triggered a great wave of “Advocating and returning to nature”; in 1994, the United States passed a law “The Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA)”, which formally established the legal status of plant extract as a raw material of dietary supplements. Since then, global plant extracts market is booming and China has became the largest supplier in the world depending on its abundant natural resources.
In order to standardize and guide the healthy development of plant extracts industry strategically, the Information Center of China National Development and Reform Commission, Hunan Agricultural University, Chenguang Biotech Group Co., Ltd etc. more than 10 units and companies formed a compilation group, officially launched the research work on plant extracts industry, and to formulating the white paper of China plant (traditional Chinese Medicine) extracts industry (hereinafter referred to as “white paper”). Geneham Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd- as a member of China plant extracts industrial alliance and our CEO, Dr. Zhou Yingjun-as the chairman of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department, college of Pharmacy & Head of the Teaching and Research Section, Department of natural pharmaceutical chemistry, Central South University participated in writing the White paper of China Plant Extracts Industry.
